San Francisco Sourdough Recipe Test

Just say the name and people become quiet and almost reverent. "San Francisco Sourdough Bread". It's not just a bread, it's a holy grail. And much like the Holy Grail, it seems that no one living today has seen San Francisco Sourdough Bread. Each recipe we've seen, and even each vendor's bread is different - even in San Francisco.

But the legend and lore live on.

We have to admit, we are looking for that elusive loaf of bread, famous around the world.

Since the flour test is officially over, we are gathering recipes, and we'll be posting pictures and results here pretty soon.
